After Prophethood, the Caliphate is the most important institution in Islam. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Caliphs are ultimately appointed by God through His Divine guidance. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The word ‘Caliphate’ means succession, and the Caliph is a successor to a Prophet of Allah whose goal is to carry to completion the tasks of reformation and moral training that were seeded by the Prophet. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The community of followers of a Prophet of Allah continues to nurture its faith and practices under the blessing of the institution of Caliphate for as long as Allah wishes. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “Allah had promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them.” Quran 24.56 #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “According to nature’s physical laws, man has only a limited life span, but the task of reformation and training of society requires a much longer time. So, Allah has established the system of Caliphate after the system of Prophethood.” #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “The Khalifa [Caliph] continues and carries on the task of the Prophet. The seed sown by the Prophet is protected and nurtured by the Khalifa till it becomes a strong and sturdy tree.” #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “Khilafat [Caliphate] is an offshoot or branch of the system of Prophethood; that is why the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) says that after every Prophet, the system of Khilafat is established.” #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Just as Allah appoints a Prophet, it is He who appoints a Caliph as well. He chooses the person who is most eligible to become a Caliph and guides a group of pious believers into manifesting His Will through a process of selection of the Caliph. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah It may apparently seem that the Caliph is chosen by a group of pious people, but it is in fact the Will of Allah that guides their faculties into choosing the Caliph of His Choice. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Caliphate establishes the authority of Allah on earth, and the Khalifa [Caliph] strives to uphold that authority within the community of followers. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah For the believers, the Caliphate is an embodiment of Allah’s Unity, as they choose to take divine authority through the person of the Caliph. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The believers partake of the blessings of the Caliphate by holding firm to their faith and practices, united under him. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “Allah had promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth” (Quran 24.56). This verse embodies a promise that Muslims will be vouchsafed both spiritual and temporal leadership. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The promise of the institution of Caliphate in the Holy Quran (24.56) will take a palpable form in the person of certain individuals who will be the Prophet’s Successors and the representatives of the whole nation. They will be Caliphate personified. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “The fulfilment of this promise [Caliphate] will depend on the Muslims’ observing the Prayer and giving the Zakat and on their obeying the Messenger of God in all religious and temporal matters concerning the nation.” 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “As the Holy Prophet is now humanity’s sole guide for all time, his Khilafat [Caliphate] must continue to exist in one form or another in the world till the end of time, all other Khulafa having ceased to exist.” 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The mission of a Khalifa [Caliph] is to protect the Law and to bring back “the erring flock into the Master’s fold.” 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “The appointment of a Khalifa [Caliph] occurs through God’s own decree in the sense that the hearts of believers become inclined towards them and they voluntarily accept them as their Khalifas.” 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The function of a Caliph is that the religion whose mission is to serve becomes firmly established through their prayers and missionary efforts. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah A Caliph enjoys equanimity and peace of mind amidst hardships, privations or persecution, which nothing can disturb. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Caliphs worship God alone, i.e. in the discharge of their great responsibilities, they fear no one, and they carry on their duties undaunted and without being discouraged or dismayed by the difficulties that stand in their way. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The words, “Whosoever is ungrateful after that, they will be the rebellious,” [Quran 24.56] signify that Khilafat [Caliphate] is a great Divine blessing. 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “Without it [Caliphate] there can be no solidarity, cohesion and unity among Muslims and therefore they can make no real progress without it.” 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah If Muslims do not show proper appreciation of the Caliphate by giving unstinted support and obedience to their Caliphs, they will forfeit this great Divine boon and, in addition, will draw the displeasure of God upon themselves. 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Hazrat Hakeem Maulvi Nooruddin (R.A) established the unity of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community after the death of the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (A.S). #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Also known as the “Promised Reformer”, Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (R.A) introduced many improvements into the administration of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Hazrat Mirza Nasir Ahmad (R.H) offered great leadership and guidance when Pakistan declared the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to be non-Muslim. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad (R.H) launched the first Muslim satellite television network. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah It is guiding the Community through a time of great global scepticism and animosity towards Islam. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The carries message of the Prophet into the future without losing the spirit of the message. This task is best accomplished when the community is united & strong. The community cannot be united and strong without the Institution of Caliphate. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah It is the responsibility of the to admonish us with the help of Allah to stay on the right path. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The blessings of the Caliphate give us peace and security of mind. However, it is our responsibility to prove ourselves worthy of the blessings of the Caliphate. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah When Allah makes Successors in the earth, the fear of people turns into peace and security. (Holy Quran 24:56) #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The purpose of the institution of the Caliphate is to bring people closer to Allah. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah After the prophets complete their mission, the challenge is to maintain the unity of the community and to keep the community on the right path. This task requires a leader [#CaliphOfMessiah] who has a strong faith and a high level of righteousness. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “According to the Holy Quran, till the end of time, you will continue to be blessed with spiritual life and material vision from God. And such ability in you, in other words, is called Caliphate.” 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “The people of other religions and nations will receive this light from you. This spiritual life and material vision will empower you to invite others towards Islam.” 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The most basic function of the Caliph is to carry the message of the Prophet into the future without losing the spirit of the message. This task is best accomplished when the community is united and strong. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The community cannot be united and strong without the Institution of Caliphate. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “In Islam, this is quite clear like broad daylight and is a part of Islamic teaching that without unity and harmony, you cannot rightly work on the teachings of Islam.” 4th #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah An Imam is a necessary figure in a mosque, so how can the whole Muslim Ummah continue its journey without an Imam? #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “Caliphate has two primary objectives. One is to save the Jama’at from contamination of any kind, and the second is to unite and direct the individual powers of all members under one leadership.” 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah When the community is united, and all the individual talents, skills and passions are channelled, coordinated and guided by the Caliph, it becomes easier for Jama’at to achieve its goals. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Hazrat Hakeem Maulvi Nooruddin (R.A) arranged for the education of the community by setting up religious newspapers and schools. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (R.A) established auxiliary organisations to ensure that new converts and current members and their children are taught the true peaceful teachings of Islam. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Hazrat Mirza Nasir Ahmad (R.H) established libraries and schools in Africa. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad (R.H) established MTA [Muslim Television Ahmadiyya] for the spiritual training of Ahmadis and Tabligh (propagation) to humanity across the globe. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Great achievements are only possible if the community is united under a leader, and in turn, these great achievements ensure that the message of Islam is transmitted to the whole world in its true form and spirit. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah It is the job of the Caliph to constantly admonish us, particularly through weekly Khutbahs [Friday Sermons], to keep us on the right track. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah After listening to Khutbahs [Friday sermons], how many times do we feel that we were stepping away from God, but Khutba reminded us of what a good life is and how we should live it. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Islam teaches us that we do have freedom, but the exercise of freedom needs to be within the framework of the Holy Quran and Hadiths. The constant guidance and admonishing of prevents us from stepping outside that framework. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah All people in the world who really care about us constantly admonish us. Allah has appointed, and he constantly admonishes us on what we should do to succeed in this life and the hereafter. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The principal function of the school is to look after the spiritual, moral, social and intellectual welfare of the people. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Under the Islamic system, there will be a Head of State who will take care of political, social and economic matters. The system of the Caliphate will be a parallel structure whose sole job will be the spiritual welfare of people and the guidance of the state. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah serves a crucial function in the affairs of society and state by constantly guiding us and admonishing us about moral and spiritual matters. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “Take the example of the solar system. All planets are revolving around the sun. Nature tells us that it is inevitable to have a central leadership for any organisation.” 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “Look at the life of the companions of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H). They all marched forward in spiritual and worldly matters due to the central leadership” 2nd #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah We have the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet PBUH. But despite all this, Muslims are victims of all kinds of humiliation. This is all because of one reason, and that is the lack of Ameer, whom everyone must obey. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Think of yourself as a bird, and the wind as the blessings of the Caliphate. We have to fly on our own and fly in the right direction towards our spiritual goals. Only then, the winds of the blessings of Caliphate will help us to fly faster & smoother. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Blessings of Caliphate come into play only when we do our part and struggle to move on the right path. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The power of the institution of the Caliphate is twofold: temporal and spiritual. In view of the magnitude, the sanctity, and pervasiveness of the mission assigned, the Caliph is elected for life. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah He is bound to consult with the representatives of the community in matters of vital importance, but the final decision in such matters rests with him alone. Nothing overrides his authority as long as he operates within the framework of Islamic Law. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah To comprehend the tremendous administrative authority vested in this one man, one needs to grasp the ambit of the responsibilities he is charged with, which are to preserve and spread the guidance revealed through the Prophet. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The believers turn to Allah with utmost devotion and pray fervently to seek His help and guidance in choosing the Prophet’s successor [Caliph]. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Allah listens to the prayers of His true and humble servants and, in keeping with His promise, guides them to choose the most righteous one as their Caliph [Divine leader]. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The appointment of the Caliph [Divine leader], thus, is not the doing of the people. It is Allah’s doing. People act only as instruments in the manifestation of God’s will. They only cast their votes. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Ahmadiyya Muslim community needed the guidance of the institution of Caliphate [Divine leadership] to become capable enough to spread the message of Islam to the corners of the world. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah It is through the establishment of the Caliphate [Divine leadership] that the message of the Promised Messiah (A.S) has been carried to the corners of the globe. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The presence of the [Divine leader] serves as a constant reminder to believers not to deviate from the way of the righteous. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The mandate of the Caliph[Divine leadership] is not to build empires and seek worldly glory but to keep the love of Allah burning in the hearts of the members, i.e. they worship Allah alone, and they do not associate anything with Him. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Caliph’s main role is the spiritual welfare and guidance of people. He is the head of a religious organisation, and his administrative authority is limited to the running of that organisation. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Caliph does not become directly involved in state affairs. He, however, does play the role of a guide and ensures that affairs of state are conducted in keeping with the spirit of the teachings of Islam. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Caliph regulates and administers community affairs. He has the authority to make decisions that affect the moral welfare of the community. However, his responsibility is to admonish, not to coerce. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Islam does offer guidelines and does outline some restrictions as to how individuals should navigate their daily lives, but it does not advocate compulsion. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Allah [God] emphasises that religion should not be imposed by force. Individuals are free to make choices, but the choices have consequences. If the individual follows the path shown by Allah [God], the consequences will be positive. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “There is no compulsion in religion.” Holy Quran 2:257 #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The role is the same as that of the prophet, and that is to admonish as the Holy Quran says: “Admonish, therefore, for thou art but an admonisher;” Holy Quran 88:22 #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “And consult them in matters of administration; and when thou art resolved, then put thy trust in Allah. Surely, Allah loves those who put their trust in Him.” Holy Quran 3:160 #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “In running the state, you are my partners. Help me with your sound advice. If I follow the right path laid down by God and His Prophet, follow me. If I deviate, correct me. Strengthen me with your advice and suggestions” #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Having been chosen through the Will of Allah holds a special place in the sight of Allah. As such, he is accorded a distinct status in the acceptance of prayers. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Since he [The Caliph] is to help individuals and society to internalise the attributes of Allah, the granting of such special favour to the Caliph only makes sense. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Allah listens to the Caliph’s prayers and assists him against all challenges. Take the example of the Khalifat-e-Ahmadiyya. It has faced many obstacles and conspiracies designed to wipe out Jama’at. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Caliph is required by Allah to exercise his authority in keeping with the dictates of righteousness: “Verily, Allah is with those who are righteous and those who do good.” Holy Quran 16:129 #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The institution of the Caliphate is required to employ righteousness [Taqwa] when discharging its responsibilities and exercising its authority. Taqwa is a broad concept, but from the point of view of governance, it means justice and equity. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah is not supposed to manipulate the public or appeal to the majority. The criterion of his decision-making is one and only one: how his decisions will be liked by Allah. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah When we look at the history of the caliphate in Islam, it becomes clear that as long as Taqwa [Righteousness] was the guide of the Caliph, Islam grew stronger and became popular with the masses. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah When the 1st became Caliph, he continued to live simply and used his temporal authority to alleviate poverty. For instance, under his direction, a fund was set up to provide assistance to orphans, the needy & deserving students. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “This grace Caliphate is attracted by the service to humanity, and I have been inspired by this sentiment since my early youth.” (Hazrat Hakeem Maulvi Nooruddin R.A) #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “I have always been keen to serve everyone without distinction of caste, creed, country, or nationality both intellectually and practically” (Hazrat Hakeem Maulvi Nooruddin R.A) #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Hazrat Mirza Nasir Ahmad (R.H) used his authority to introduce schemes such as Nusrat Jehan to help Africa recover from its colonial past by establishing numerous schools and hospitals. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad (R.H), among other initiatives, founded Humanity First. Its mandate is to alleviate poverty, suffering and ignorance around the globe through the donations and time of volunteers. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad (R.H) launched Muslim Television Ahmadiyya, which is designed to broadcast spiritual, religious, historical, economic and social programs. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah is chosen by Allah. He is charged with enormous responsibilities. In keeping with the magnitude of his responsibilities, he is vested with vast authority both in temporal and spiritual realms. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah is advised in the Holy Quran to consult before making decisions in the affairs of the community. However, in all matters, the final decision rests with him. Needless to say, his decisions should not be contrary to Islamic law. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah If a people inclined to God choose a successor, God helps those people by infusing His spirit into the successor, helping and guiding him so the people can continue to be rightly guided. God establishes the successor or Caliph. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The great mission of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) was to lead all of mankind to God. He was the culmination of the message of God to mankind. After his demise, his rightly guided Caliphate or successors carried on the work and kept the Muslims united. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Head of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat is a spiritual and religious head only. He is known as Successor to the Promised Messiah. It plays the same role in this capacity as the early Caliphate of the Holy Prophet (pbuh). #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah loves his people more than they love him. The subject of love and obedience is intimately linked, and one leads to the other. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah This blessing of Caliphate was lost to the Muslims and has now reappeared with the advent of the Promised Messiah, and only the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat has the institution of Caliphate. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah How prophetic were the words of Uthman, the third successor to the Holy Prophet (pbuh), when he warned the mutineers: “If you succeed in killing me, you shall never be able to remain united, nor able to offer your prayers or face the enemy in unity”. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Islamic world talks of a single ummah, but it is plain to see the divisions within it. Sometimes they appear united against a common foe, but it is a superficial unity: “Thou thinks them to be united, but their hearts are divided” Quran 59:15. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah All human efforts to create peace from selfish ulterior motives are bound to fail and come to nothing. If there is no God, there is no peace. The Messengers and their successors and Caliphate have but this one aim. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Without returning to God, one cannot attain peace, and without that peace, peace in society cannot be built. The Messengers and their successors and Khulafa have but this one aim. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah is the man of unity and peace through the love and obedience he engenders in his community. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Before his passing, the Promised Messiah (P.B.U.H) established a system of Caliphate, literally “successorship.” The Promised Messiah (P.B.U.H) explained that this Caliphate was a Divine institution. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Caliphate is a Divine institution, whereby the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community would be cared for by a Divinely appointed individual. The success of the Community, and consequently that of man, would now arise only from obedience to this Caliphate. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah is a reflection of a Prophet. God Almighty designed that Prophets should be reflectively preserved forever. For this purpose, God instituted the Caliphate so that the world should at no time be deprived of the blessings of Prophethood. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Caliphate allows man to experience the blessings of prophethood indefinitely. While all prophets have passed away, their message, and consequently morality, has been preserved due to this Divine institution. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The only way of acquiring certainty is to experience God repeatedly through conversation with Him or through witnessing his extraordinary signs, or by keeping company with someone who has that experience. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Caliph is responsible for safeguarding the morals of mankind and for maintaining a unified body of the righteous. Throughout history, no community ever came to power without being unified. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Caliphate [Divine leadership] ensures that unity remains as the constant theme of a body of believers. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah By obeying the #CaliphOfMessiah, political leaders become righteous, as their constituency embodies the same ideal. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Critics presuppose that adherence to the Caliphate requires one to abstain from all worldly ambitions. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Once, the revered Sir Muhammad Zafarullah Khan Sahib (R.A) was asked how he was able to accomplish such great feats [in life], he immediately replied, “Because throughout all my life, I was obedient to Khilafat [Caliphate].” #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “It is incumbent that Muslims should unite under the hand of one Imam. But without Khilafat [Caliphate], it is just impossible.” 4th #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah If the Imam falters [during prayers], the entire congregation must follow his mistake even if they know that a mistake has been committed. What better instance can be presented for the need of an Imam and unity in his following? #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “If an Imam is mandatory in a small mosque, then how can the whole of the Muslim Ummah survive without an Imam?” 4th #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah For the Muslims throughout the world, there is one and only one Qibla. You may go anywhere in the world, the Qibla remains the same. This is a pointer that it is incumbent upon the Muslim Ummah to be united under one Imam. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The spiritual condition of Muslims in the days of the Holy Prophet (S.A) was a thousand times better than that of Muslims today. If they needed to follow an Imam, how can we live without an Imam today when the condition of Muslims is crying for it? #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Khalifa’s mission is that of the prophets – to continue to unify mankind and declare the Unity of Allah. When one truly recognises the Caliphate, the Unity of Allah becomes apparent, as though no other avenue could have brought about the Universe. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Ahmadiyyat has grown from a few hundred thousand members in 1908 to tens of millions in just under 100 years. 1,879 missions, 14,434 mosques, 64 translations of the Holy Quran & 40+ hospitals in 189 countries. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Ahmadiyyat furnishes the proof that is the cure for all the social maladies of today. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Institution of Caliphate is the purest manifestation of the Islamic state in the absence of a Prophet. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Islam is a practical religion, and therefore, in order to properly function, the institution of Caliphate is comprised of many authoritative bodies and individuals all working to facilitate the implementation of the Caliph’s instructions. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Shura or Majlis-e-Mushawara enables them to assess and address the ever-diversifying and expanding opinions and needs of the Ummah. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The institution of the Caliphate is the heavenly means of sustaining the unity of Islam and fostering its spiritual strength. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The companions of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) held the firm belief that the Caliphate was a guarantor for the growth and power of Islam and its followers, without which its unity could not be preserved. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah From a prophecy of the Holy Prophet (P.B.O.H), the Caliphate would consist of two eras – one would follow immediately after his death and between the other would intervene a period of suppressive, oppressive and cruel regimes: https://www.alislam.org/hadith/prophecy-of-holy-prophet-muhammad-khilafat/ #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Khalifa Rashid [Right-guided Caliph] is a person who holds the office of Imamat & effervesces divine prudence. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Whosoever is bestowed with this office is a Khalifa Rashid [Right-guided Caliph], irrespective of whether he lived in earlier or present times or comes into being in later days. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah It is not correct to say that Khilafat-i-Rashida [Rightly guided Caliphs] was confined to the period of the first four Khalifas, or to its second era alone. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah God has planned to keep alive, forever up to the last days, His messengers who bear a mark of distinction over the rest. He has established the institution of Caliphate so that the world shall never remain without the blessings of prophethood. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The two eras of Khilafat-e-Rashida [The Rightly guided Caliphate] were described by the Holy Prophet (pbuh) as ‘KHILAFAT ON THE PRECEPTS OF PROPHETHOOD’ #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Holy Prophet (pbuh) enjoined upon believers to: “Follow in my footsteps and in the footsteps of Khulafa-e-Rashide’en [Caliphate] who were fully guided” Masnad Ahmad bin Hanbal, Vol. IV. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Through the Caliphate, not only is righteousness secured, and the mission of establishing the unity of God, preserving Islam and consummating its beliefs accomplished, but it also leads to the spiritual and temporal growth and strength of the believers. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Holy Prophet (P.B.O.H) is reported to have said: “I urge you to fear Allah and to listen and obey your leader even though he may be a negro slave” (Masnad Ahmad bin Hanbal: Vol. IV) #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Promises uttered for a nation are accomplished through individuals: “He [Allah] ] will surely make them successors [Caliphate]” (Quran 24:56) and “Allah’s favour upon you when He raised prophets among you and made you kings” (Quran 5: 21). #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah “He will surely make them successors [Caliphate] in the earth as He made successors from among those before them . ..” (Holy Quran 24:56). #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah In the Holy Quran (24:56), Allah promises that the Caliphate would not be confined to one or two individuals but would extend to a considerable number of individuals from amongst the followers, and the institution would continue in operation up to the last day. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah In the Holy Quran (24:56), we have proof in God’s Own doing for the establishment of the individual Caliphate. If He had intended a corporate body to succeed the Holy Prophet (S.A.W), He would have allowed this to happen. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The believers should realise that the office of Caliphate was not an individual’s hereditary right but was to be bestowed upon a deserving individual through popular election, ultimately supported by Allah’s hand. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah In Islam, Khilafat-e-Rashida [Rightly guided Caliphate] has seven distinctive features: 1) Election, 2) Sharia, 3) Consultation, 4) Morals, 5) Equality, 6) Providential protection, 7) non-political. Hence, it is impossible for a Khalifa to become a dictator. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Caliphate is elective, and the method of election has been left open to believers. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah A Caliph is under the yoke of Sharia Law. He can reject the counsel of his advisers, but he cannot ignore the laws of Sharia. Thus, although he is a constitutional head, he is not absolutely free. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah In addition to the control of Sharia, he [Caliph] is subject to consultations as well. In all important matters, he is bound to consult his colleagues and to follow their advice as far as possible. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah Since a Caliph is the religious head as well as the leader of obligatory prayers, he feels morally and subconsciously obliged to lead a righteous path, but this situation does not apply to a political leader, whether elected or not. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah A Caliph has been promised providential protection from major mistakes liable to bring about disastrous consequences. He is assured of God’s succour & help against adversaries. This unique position is not available to any other type of leader. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah He is not aligned to any political party & his position is that of a father. God says: “When you adjudicate, do so with justice”, i.e. a person in the position of Caliph should exercise complete justice, leaning neither to an individual nor to a party. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah The Khalifa takes counsel from his colleagues on all important matters which have a national bearing & follow their advice as far as possible. #KhilafatDay #CaliphOfMessiah
